Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when you create an account or use Chirpin, including your name, email address, profile photo, and team affiliations. We also collect usage data such as games scored, stats recorded, and features used to improve the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and maintain Chirpin; (b) display live game scores and stats to your team and followers; (c) personalize your experience; (d) communicate with you about your account or important updates; (e) improve our services; and (f) comply with legal obligations.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with: (a) other members of your team or league (name, profile photo, player stats, and game data); (b) the public for live game scores you choose to share; (c) service providers who help us operate the platform; (d) AI assistants you choose to connect, as described in section 4; and (e) law enforcement when required by law.

4. Connecting AI Assistants

You can connect your Chirpin account to AI assistants such as ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic). Connecting is optional, and only you can turn it on. You sign in on a Chirpin page; the assistant never receives your Chirpin password or login.

What is shared. When you ask a connected assistant for help, Chirpin sends it the information needed to answer: your teams, schedules, practices and games, your Chirpin Coach practice plans and drills, and, for teams you coach or manage, players' names, jersey numbers and positions. Chirpin does not send passwords, birth dates, or players' or parents' contact details to assistants.

How the assistant uses it. Once shared, that information is handled by the assistant's provider under its own terms and privacy policy and your settings there, including whether your conversations may be used to improve its models. Chirpin does not control how those providers use or retain data. Coaches and managers should connect an assistant only in line with their team's or league's policies, and should not share sensitive details about players, such as health or family information, in conversations.

Actions. An assistant can send a practice plan to your team only after you review a preview and confirm it. Families receive the same notification as when you send from the Chirpin apps. We keep a record of plans sent through an assistant, including which assistant was used, and aggregate usage counts, for up to 13 months.

Disconnecting. You can disconnect an assistant at any time from Settings → Connected apps on chirpinhockey.com or in the assistant's own settings. Disconnecting stops access immediately. It does not remove information an assistant already received; manage that with the assistant's provider.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on our servers. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) correct inaccurate data; (c) request deletion of your data; (d) export your data. To request deletion of all your data, email support@chirpinhockey.com with the subject line “Delete My Data” and we will process your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Chirpin accounts are intended for users aged 13 and older. Player profiles for minors are managed by a parent, guardian, or authorized team manager. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately. Rosters, which can include minors' names, are shared with an AI assistant only when a coach or manager with access to that team connects one and asks for them.

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to understand how you use Chirpin. We may use analytics tools that collect anonymized data about usage patterns to help us improve the platform.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Chirpin after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
